Service Overview

## What cellar cooling does
A cellar cooling system keeps your beer cellar at a steady, cool temperature. It uses a cooling unit inside the cellar and a fan unit outside. It works like air conditioning but designed to run year-round for stock.

Cellar cooling is for pubs, bars, restaurants and any venue storing cask ale, kegs or wine. We install, service and repair cellar cooling across Hereford and Herefordshire.

Venues typically need us when opening or refurbishing a cellar, when an existing unit struggles in summer, or when beer quality starts to suffer.

Cellar cooling uses refrigerant, so it must be installed and repaired by F-Gas certified engineers. We are F-Gas and REFCOM registered and hold public liability and employers' liability insurance.

Why It Matters

## What a warm cellar costs you
Cask ale is sensitive to temperature. A cellar that runs too warm affects condition and flavour, and can make beer pour too frothy, so pints get wasted.

A failing unit often gives little warning, and the hottest weekends are when it's under the most strain. Lost stock and unhappy customers follow.

An old or badly maintained unit also runs constantly, pushing up electricity costs.

### Common mistakes to avoid

- Waiting for the unit to fail before calling an engineer
- Blocking the air around the outdoor unit
- Propping the cellar door open during deliveries
- Skipping yearly servicing
- Using equipment that's too small for the cellar

In Detail

## Cellar cooling explained
Understanding how your cellar gains heat helps you keep it cool.

### What warms a cellar up
Heat comes through walls and doors, from deliveries, from people working in the cellar and from equipment such as beer line coolers. We account for all of them when sizing.

### Positioning the units
The indoor unit needs to move cool air evenly around your stock, and the outdoor unit needs space around it to get rid of heat.

### Pubs and bars
Traditional cellars with cask ale need close temperature control. We design systems to match.

### Restaurants
Restaurants storing wine and kegs benefit from dedicated cooling separate from the dining room air conditioning.

### Servicing and repairs
A yearly service checks coils, drains, fans and controls. If your unit fails, emergency call-outs and breakdown repairs are available during our working hours.
